Québec's region
Need we say anything more about the merits of Québec City, whose remarkable UNESCO-recognized architecture attracts visitors from all over the world? Turn your handlebars in just about any direction in the Old Capital region, and you’re almost certain to come face to face with history. In addition to exploring the paths and bicycle-friendly streets that crisscross one of North America’s most charming cities, you can also cycle to the numerous historic landmarks along the Chemin du Roy, which passes through such extraordinarily pretty
villages as Neuville, Deschambault and Portneuf and also runs alongside the flats and escarpments of the St. Lawrence River.
The riverside Promenade Samuel-De Champlain and Corridor du Littoral bikeway lead from the aquarium—near the famed Québec Bridge—to the boat terminal in the city’s old port. The Corridor des Cheminots, a relaxed northbound circuit, takes you to Shannon, where you can veer toward the Jacques-Cartier/ Portneuf path and continue to the Duchesnay ecotourism station or even Rivière-à-Pierre.
